ROCHESTER, NY, May 19, 2004 - As InSciTek Microsystems, Inc. announces today that the Allworx 10x now supports Site-to-Site, Remote Users and 3rd Party Email Applications.

New features for the Allworx 10x system:

• Site-to-Site:
  • With an Allworx 10x at each branch office, the company can now make calls to and from each site for virtually free because the calls are sent over the Internet using VoIP - saving hundreds to thousands of dollars each month. All phone functionality normally used at each site can now be shared across sites, such as conference calling, transferring, and dialing individuals at any site via their extension number. Each site can support up to 40 users.
• Remote Users:
  • Normally, an employee who is physically present in the office would be supplied with a phone connected to one of the phone lines (PBX), i.e. an "extension." Using Allworx 10x, a company can effectively extend the extension through the Internet, retaining the same functionality for office and remote workers without toll charges. The system simply treats the remote user as an employee located at the main office. All employees get all the phone features, PC networking, and messaging software that comes with the Allworx 10x. Now companies can truly implement a "virtual" team of employees anywhere around the world.
• 3rd Party Email Application Support:
  • Any email client that uses POP3/SMTP protocols is now supported by the Allworx 10x. Users can leverage all of the Allworx features (phone system, VoIP, unified messaging, PC networking, presence management, call routing, etc.) and still use their existing email application.
