Expanded ITSP Integration, Greater Versatility Managing Calls Tops List
ROCHESTER, NY, March 15, 2005 - InSciTek Microsystems Inc. today announced a broad array of enhancements to its Allworx 10X small-business communications system – cited by Entrepreneur magazine as a “Tech Investment That Pays Off.” These enhancements expand integration with Internet Service Providers (ITSPs), enable the easier receipt and handling of incoming calls, expanded VoIP flexibility, simplify administrative management of the system, and improve both security and reliability, the company said.
The Allworx 10x, the cornerstone device of a networked phone system for small-to-medium sized businesses (under 100 employees per site), integrates into a single server all the various communications platforms – VoIP, phone, PC network, messaging software and group collaboration capabilities – necessary for businesses to succeed today, InSciTek said. Enhancements to the system include:
- Integration with more ITSPs and greater compliance with SIPConnect specifications
- Improved call monitoring/tracking, auto-attendant functions and incoming call “queuing”
- Greater connectivity among remote phones behind the system’s firewall
- The addition of a versatile music-and-messages program for VoIP callers on hold
“These enhancements build upon a series of improvements incorporated into the system in 2004, and permit efficient integration of the 10X with virtually any infrastructure a business might use today,” said George E. Daddis Jr., CEO and President of InSciTek. “Small and medium-sized businesses need a simple, turnkey office system that provides all of the information and communications capabilities that the big companies enjoy without the cost or IT support, and the Allworx 10X meets that need.”
Daddis said business owners are realizing immediate benefits in lower initial investment costs, improved customer responsiveness, reduced recurring expenses and higher employee productivity due to the Allworx 10x. Not only does it incorporate enterprise class PBX telephony features at a small-business price, but also has the true key-system features, tailored for smaller businesses, not found in phone systems from larger players such as Cisco, Avaya or Nortel, he said.
Based on the US Census data, there are approximately 3.64 million businesses in the United States with between two and 99 employees. Of this group, 88 percent (3.2 million businesses) are ideal candidates for an Allworx 10x solution, InSci Tek says. More than 50 percent of these businesses will employ a VoIP solution in the next three years, according to TechLinks.
“For the last four years, we’ve proven our ability to build and deliver quality products that meet the communications needs of small-to-medium sized businesses,” Daddis said. “Allworx is leading the industry in quality VoIP implementations in this market space. Our advantage was earned through a very early start in VoIP deployment, by listening carefully to the unique needs of small businesses, and due to our exceptional R&D capacity.”
